If you're expecting your Volvo to have a turbocharged engine, all three of the S60 trims meet that need. The T5, T6 and the all new T6 R-Design, regardless of trim, all have the energetic snappiness that turbo Volvos of old were known for.
The front-wheel-drive 2012 Volvo S60 T5 gets a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-5 engine that produces 250 hp. The T5 comes with a standard six-speed automatic. Estimated fuel economy with the 5 cylinder is a hearty 20 mpg city/30 mpg highway and 23 mpg combined!
The T6 adds a more powerful engine and standard all-wheel drive powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6 that produces 300 hp! The T6 has a standard six-speed automatic that gets an estimated 18 MPG city 26 MPG highway and 21 MPG combined. The T6 R-Design gets a more powerful version of the same engine good for 325 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque. All-wheel drive and the six-speed auto are still standard, with the fuel efficiency being the same at the T6.
